The village and
surrounding area are full of cultural events all year round as
in the rest of
Catalonia. Miravet holds its own numerous celebrations
throughout the year such as the Festival of Saint Anthony held
on the 17th January with winter decorated floats,
dinner and bonfire, or the Cherry Festival held in June where
the locals join together for the giant paella lunch, cherry
tarts and evening dancing.
The main summer festival
is held at the beginning of August in honour of Saint Dominic,
the patron saint of the potters, and includes a weekend full of
activities for all the family including a race down the river in
home-made vessels.
Autumn is celebrated
with a 4 day festival at the beginning of October including
processions, mass, sardine lunch and various organised
activities.
